Merry SITSmas!

Some pictures from our annual family Christmas party.  The kids all dressed up and acted out the nativity while my dad read from the scriptures.  It was pretty cute.  Dalton kept saying "Mom, I have a towel on my head!"

Brylin really got into the role as Mary and the shepherds and wise men were all about the photo ops!!

I recently joined up with the wonderful bloggers over at SITS.  It is a great blogging sitsahood that encourages comments and so much more!  The reason for the post today is so we save money on stamps but still get cyber Christmas cards.  Sound interesting??  Well then head on over and check them out.  And everyone have a very Merry SITSmas!

I love the name Dalton. That was my maiden name and I have thought about it as a first name for a child!!

This is the cutest idea... I may have to borrow it for all of my nephews and nieces at Christmas (I have 12)

How sweet they are! My family tries this every year and no one wants to do. It usually involves crying, bribing, screaming, etc. My mom always tries to use an elastic to keep the towel, what? I like the bandana idea much better.

This looks like fun! You must have enough kids between you all to fill all the parts. Do you get any squabbling over who gets to be who?

How to get Urine/Sweat stains out of your Mattress

If you have kids you have pee stains I know it.  If you don't lucky you or you are a liar and in denial.  I have pee stains on more than one mattress.  I also have sweat stains on pillows because well I sweat a.lot.  It's a gift I know. I digress.

Anyway I have tried many different ways to get urine/pee out of mattresses and I have been very unsuccessful so I did a google search and what do you know?  Another mom had pee stains too.  So I borrowed her recipe and it totally worked so I am sharing it with you.

All you need are these few house-hold ingredients and a spray bottle.  I bought a really expensive one (NOT) I used one I had for my kids hair.  It worked great.
You will need:
3 Tablespoons Baking Soda
8 ounces Hydrogen peroxide
1 drop dish soap
Mix together well and use right away. My mom discovered that if it is not mixed well the baking soda will clog the sprayer.  You also can't store this apparently it doesn't last in the bottle and it is no longer effective due to …

Master Bedroom Makeover Board and Batten

I highly recommend a few items although you don't HAVE to have them it just makes this project go so much faster.  I bought a pancake compressor with three nail guns included saved me on this project and a miter saw.  I bought both from Home Depot and they didn't pay me to say that it is just where I happen to shop.  I actually had this all measured out and went to Home Depot and they cut the mdf primed boards for me.  However I later purchased the miter saw and was then able to cut things right here at my house.  The nail gun I used is a 16 gauge gun that can shoot nails up to 3 inches.  I used a 2.5 inch nail to cover the thickness of the board and wall. Ok so I recommend deciding how you want your boards spaced first and measure and mark on the wall where you want them.  I tried to do every 16 inches because that is how far apart my studs were but then I realized my wall wasn't an even length and so I have some that look a little off on the ends.  Lesson learned..... Fun Christmas Crafts for Kids

I am kind of a crafty person.  I am not good at coming up with my own crafts but I am really great at copying others work and making it my own with my own little touches.  So when my friend recommended I try making toilet paper snowmen I jumped all over that idea.  My kids are on year round school and we are off track right now and I am desperate to entertain them.  I took my question to Pinterest and found this great idea.  I then ventured to Hobby Lobby and our mission was underway.

We also went to Target and got the cheapest TP available because I didn't want to use my expensive super soft kind for a craft (I know call me crazy but I'm weird about my TP).

2 Rolls of TP per snowman
jewels or buttons for eyes and mouth
black pom poms for the front "buttons"
orange pom pom for the nose
ric rac ribbon for the hat
ribbon for the scarf
ribbon to tie around end of hat
snowflake or pom pom for hat
felt sheet for hat (we used black)
white broadcloth to wrap around TP rolls
