My Two Cents.....

I have seen so many posts about 9/11. How people felt that day. Nearly everyone remembers what they were doing when it happened. I certainly do.

It was such a devastating day for our country. I wish I could say I thought we came out for the better. I think that initially we did. Our country become one. We didn't care about the "issues" that burden our society. We cared about humanity, we cared about our brothers and sisters that were suffering injuries and loss, we cared about the public servants that sacrificed their lives for others, we flew our American Flags everyday just because we could. It was terribly humbling that a nation could come together so powerfully.

You know what I wish.....
I wish we could come together like that for no reason at all. Now that would be POWERFUL.

What do you think?

I completely agree. We still fly our flag every day. We still have patriotic things around our house every day. But then again, we're a military family, and we're a firefighting family. We don't need one date to remember the sacrifices that are made every day. I love your two cents

I agree also. The activity surrounding the 'coming together' was terrible and unfortunate but it was amazing. Everybody seemed to put their issues aside, cared a little more for their neighbor and strangers and showed a love for their country.
I agree it's sad when it only happens when a hurricane hits or acts of terrorism.

Stopping by from blogfrog to say HI
totally agree...i feel like we were only united for a micro minute then all hell fell apart! why is it so hard to get along! why is everything
made to be soo hard!...our poor founding fathers (of all political views) are rolling in their graves...right now i feel like we are so divided and close to being broken (not broke...we already are that! lol!)...BROKEN! makes me sad!

It was a great feeling. But, in truth, our country has always been divided, that's what being a democracy is all about. If we all agreed, I don't know that I would recognize us! I do think our founding fathers would be disappointed in how far we've strayed from their ideals, but also be proud of what a great country we've become. I continue to hold out hope that it can't get any worse, only better.

What I wish is not that we could all agree but that we could value and recognize the differences that make us individuals.

I wish that too. I wished it even more when election was going on. I can't believe how Americans acted around that time and how many of them continue to act today towards our new president. It makes me embarrassed for our country. :(

How to get Urine/Sweat stains out of your Mattress

If you have kids you have pee stains I know it.  If you don't lucky you or you are a liar and in denial.  I have pee stains on more than one mattress.  I also have sweat stains on pillows because well I sweat a.lot .  It's a gift I know. I digress. Anyway I have tried many different ways to get urine/pee out of mattresses and I have been very unsuccessful so I did a google search and what do you know?  Another mom had pee stains too.  So I borrowed her recipe and it totally worked so I am sharing it with you. All you need are these few house-hold ingredients and a spray bottle.  I bought a really expensive one (NOT) I used one I had for my kids hair.  It worked great. You will need: 3 Tablespoons Baking Soda 8 ounces Hydrogen peroxide 1 drop dish soap Mix together well and use right away. My mom discovered that if it is not mixed well the baking soda will clog the sprayer.  You also can't store this apparently it doesn't last in the bottle and it is no longe

Master Bedroom Makeover Board and Batten

I highly recommend a few items although you don't HAVE to have them it just makes this project go so much faster.  I bought a pancake compressor with three nail guns included saved me on this project and a miter saw.  I bought both from Home Depot and they didn't pay me to say that it is just where I happen to shop.  I actually had this all measured out and went to Home Depot and they cut the mdf primed boards for me.  However I later purchased the miter saw and was then able to cut things right here at my house.  The nail gun I used is a 16 gauge gun that can shoot nails up to 3 inches.  I used a 2.5 inch nail to cover the thickness of the board and wall. Ok so I recommend deciding how you want your boards spaced first and measure and mark on the wall where you want them.  I tried to do every 16 inches because that is how far apart my studs were but then I realized my wall wasn't an even length and so I have some that look a little off on the ends.  Lesson learned
