Jeff Doing Service


I am probably going to get this wrong but every year the Utah Utes pick a child that is sick and wants to meet the team and/or coaches and they visit them and give them cool stuff like a signed football or other cool goodies.  Anyway this is the second or third year and to cheer me up Jeff sent me this picture of them with this happy kid.  Jeff is usually the one who coordinates and gets it all together so I am really proud of him!  Go UTES!

That is seriously really awesome. I have a close friend who's son suffers from combined immunodeficiency, a genetic disease that affects the ability of white blood cells to protect the body from infection and disease. (His 2 year old sister died because of it a couple of years ago... they are a truly amazing family.) Anyway, he was able to do Make-A-Wish and go to Disney with Kurt Warner of the Cardinals.

Things like this mean sooooooooooooooo much to these kids and I can't imagine how grateful I would feel as a parent to see my kid live in that moment of happiness. It does my heart good to see people like your hubby taking the time out of their super busy lives to make things like this happen. :)

Hey I love your blog...I too am stalking.. found it on Rhett and Tiffanies blog..anyway Jackson (my son who is 8) has a newly diagnosed case of lymphadema and it is has no cure and he will have to live and suffer with it the rest of his life.. but while we were in Primary Childrens the USA Ski Team came and I am here to tell you first hand my son thought that was incredible.. and so did all the other kids.. they made pins and snow and painted.. but it was the fact that they took time from their training to visit just warmed richard and my heart..my son still wears the hat and shirt they gave him and while at Primarys told everyone that he got to meet a gold medal skier.. he was so happy and for that moment forgot about his illness.... hands down to Jeff and the Utes... they have no idea what an impact this will make on that childs life.. I know what the ski team did for Jackson.. take care..glad to see you and your darling kids..

How to get Urine/Sweat stains out of your Mattress

Master Bedroom Makeover Board and Batten

 I highly recommend a few items although you don't HAVE to have them it just makes this project go so much faster.  I bought a pancake compressor with three nail guns included saved me on this project and a miter saw.  I bought both from Home Depot and they didn't pay me to say that it is just where I happen to shop.  I actually had this all measured out and went to Home Depot and they cut the mdf primed boards for me.  However I later purchased the miter saw and was then able to cut things right here at my house.  The nail gun I used is a 16 gauge gun that can shoot nails up to 3 inches.  I used a 2.5 inch nail to cover the thickness of the board and wall. Ok so I recommend deciding how you want your boards spaced first and measure and mark on the wall where you want them.  I tried to do every 16 inches because that is how far apart my studs were but then I realized my wall wasn't an even length and so I have some that look a little off on the ends.  Lesson learned
